Book Drive Held in US School
The Student Council at Viers Mill Elementary School in
Silver Spring, Maryland USA, held a book drive to benefit
Lagos State University (LASU) Staff School students as part
of the Eduwatch effort to support Nigerian elementary
schools. During the December 2000 book drive, Viers Mill
Elementary School students and staff donated high quality
reading books so that LASU Staff School students can have
access to a wider variety of high quality reading materials.
The book drive effort was spearheaded by two teachers,
Mrs. Susan Freiman and Miss Stacey Sacher. Viers Mills Elementary
School is part of the Montgomery County Public Schools system
in the state of Maryland in the United States of America.
